It's true that work completed independently ISS rarely has the
same instructional value as work completed in the classroom.
But why a worksheet "from a year ago"? Do you give homework?
There must be more recent work which the student is now able to
do independently which he/she could practice - something recent
which the student could review (a worksheet, review problems
from the text, etc). A reading assignment is appropriate as
well.
