Re: Getting them to admit it....

The bathroom is in the classroom so it is only used by this class.

I did not accuse anyone because I am really not sure. We have our short list
but will not pin it on anyone without being sure.

We did not ask the students to answer in front of the whole class. We know
they won't tell in front of the whole class. That's why we had everyone
write us a note. We've done that successfully with this class in the past.
That's why it's strange that no one fingered another student - unless the
culprit is really keeping quiet and not bragging to anyone.

Teacher plans to start the sign in-sign out system on Monday. Custodian
sanded down door this weekend so it's fresh and clean for Monday.

I will have to read about the Reid Technique. Not something I'm familiar
    with.

Somebody mentioned school-wide positive behavior. We have a VERY strong
school wide PBS program in place and it is one of the reasons that the
teacher and I are so stymied by this whole situation. Most of the children
in this class have been together since preschool and have forged strong,
    positive bonds.

Thanks for the input. I may have to file it away for awhile and just listen.
