I agree with WVAdmin.
I'm wondering, however, how did the situation 'come to light'?
Since both are adults and it started after the student-teacher
relationship ended, it sounds as though this is their private
business, but it should be just that - private.
You'd want to make sure it in no way affects his current
teaching - girlfriend's little brother or best friend in his
class this year, gossip spreading among students, etc.
