The post from "anon" on this thread is such a perfect
demonstration of Bob's excellent point. Ironic.
Many people who visit this chatboard come to vent about their own
administrators and make very troll-like overgeneralizations with
regularity and persistance. At times the administrators who post
here are a very small minority of posters. Even many of
the "regulars" are teachers, some who fit the definition
of "troll" and some who don't.
As long as this is an open forum that welcomes questions from
teachers, there will be teachers and others in non-administrative
roles responding to those questions as well and that's okay. It's
just important to recognize the variety of backgrounds and
intentions that people have when posting, and to never assume a
poster is an administrator (or principal or superintendent or AP)
just because they post here, or to assume any one poster is
speaking for everyone. We've had posts from everyone here at some
point or another (in no particular order): principals, APs,
superintendents, assistant supts, admin interns, teachers,
paraprofessionals, subs, student teachers, job seekers, retirees,
educational consultants, parents, high school students, college
students, and even people not involved in education at all.
And then there are the trolls, many trolls, who I suppose may
belong to ANY of those groups but come here with the intention of
stirring up disagreement and provoking reactions rather than of
providing exchange of information and professional support.
