I feel your pain. I went through a very similar experience my
second year of teaching. The "teacher" considered me her "lap
dog", and when I refused to comply, she went out of her way,
not only bullying me, but speaking horrible things about me to
my administrators, other peers, basically anyone who would
listen. In fact, she subbed for my class once, and when I got
back, my own students told me that she badmouthed me to them!
Telling them that I'm an idiot, and my degree isn't worth the
50 cents she pays for her cokes. I had gone to my principal
about her behavior, and instead of looking into it, he
considered I was the problem because I was the one complaining
(as previous poster explained, the admin is NOT your friend,
especially when you make their job more difficult).

I called my union...and had a sit down between my union lawyer
and my principal over her behavior (after she badmouthed me to
my own students, a WEEK before TAKS..telling them that
everything I've taught them up to that point was
worthless...now I'm having severe classroom managament
issues). That made it worse. So, I would advise against
    getting the union involved.

Her behavior became so bad my peers got sick of her
badmouthing me to them, and THEY went to the principal on my
behalf (without my asking them to or even knowing about it
until after the fact). But the end result was...at contract
renewal time, me, and all the teachers who spoke on my behalf
were given the choice of non-renewal or resignation, and She
was renewed. I felt horrible about that...three VERY GOOD
teachers lost their jobs because they saw me being bullied and
slandered to no end and actually spoke up for me without my
asking them to. I even went to the superindendent about this
after my principal told me I would not be renewed, and he told
me there was nothing he could do...but he did write me a very
nice letter of recommendation, and every reference call made
to him he gave me great accolades.

At the end of the day though...that "teacher" stuck it to the
school...when there was no one left to bully, she got bored, I
guess...and in the middle of the semester she upp'ed and quit
for a better paying non-educational job. Sad...the 4 of us
LOVING our students and our job...willing to fight to stay at
that school even AFTER the principal acted the way he
did...but in the end, he backed the wrong horse.

My only advice to you...based on my personal experience...just
do your best to keep your head low. I have learned myself,
that if another wishes me to be their lap-dog...I will try my
best to accomodate within reason, but if it gets out of
control, I will try to have a conversation with said
individual...and if nothing comes of it, I will be said lapdog
for the school year, and from that moment on, begin looking
for other schools to work at and begin applying as my contract
comes up for renewal. As someone once put it to me.."You've
got to play the game". From my personal experience, if the
principal or admin is in their pocket...your only avenue is to
start looking for another school. Suck it up and do your
best...work harder so that at the end of the year you can at
least get a good referral from your principal.

Good luck, and I am so sorry this is happening to you...it's
not right, but it does happen.
