    Definitely not something I'm dealing with since we have few
    openings and many teachers out of work, but... look into
    whether any of your current, good subs are certified for the
    position and encourage them to apply, same for any classified
    employees who are qualified for teaching; ask local university
    teacher education departments about recent graduates; make
    sure your staff are aware of the opening (they may know good
    people they can persuade to apply, who might not have been
    actively looking); post visible announcements in extra
    locations in the community, send a districtwide email if that
    will get the word out to some who don't know about the opening
    (for word of mouth in the community, and to reach any
    qualified non-teaching staff in other positions)... aside from
    all the usual. Good luck!
