    No, I haven't. Whether that means your teacher is misinformed
    or means that your teacher is more informed than I am, I have
    no idea.
    More thoughts:
    - Even if it is "going to go away", as long as it hasn't yet,
    nothing changes yet.
    - Even if it does "go away," keep in mind the difference
    between "not being required" and "being forbidden". My guess
    is that if it does "go away" it would remain as one potential
    option, just not used by ALL districts. I certainly don't see
    it being "banned", though I could see it being considered one
    option of several. If it's working for you, there would be no
    reason to abandon it, unless you have a better strategy to use
    in its place.
    That's just my guess though, not a particularly informed
    one....
