Post: A Question With All Due Respect About Negotiations?

Posted by Dave MontrealCan on 5/05/08

Hi everyone I have to admit that this is a question that is
vey difficult for me to ask but i feel that I need to
understand as someone who is in the education field here in
Canada and a part of Teachers Net since fall 1999.
This is with all due respect and just because of the
differences we have between provinces and states.
In school districts in areas for example where teachers do
not have a union or even much of an association I have
always wondered how negotiations between teachers and admin
    work?
In states like Texas and Az for example are there any
organizations that can work between teacher and admin and
solve problems that may occur and ensure that both admin and
the teaching community respect each other?
I am asking this being a private consultant myself who is
making my own pension and responsible for it but i always
wondered how teachers in non tenured and non union states
could work in a fair manner with admin, get along, and most
importantly make sure that at the end of the day everyone
    benefits?

    Sincerely with all due respect

    Dave MontrealCan
