Re: Tina

    1. Assuming the OP was honest and forthright, there were no charges pressed,
therefore no threat of any conviction of a crime. I find it hard to believe
that a prosecuting attorney would take this case. I'm not defending what was
said, but I am defending a young teacher's right to learn from this blunder
and keep their job. If there have never been any similar incidents, then I
don't see how this shows a pattern of aggressiveness.

    2. Some of you obviously don't understand free speech. It does allow us to
express our opinions without being arrested. Since the school district is an
agent of state and local government, it does arguably fall under the guise of
censoring free speech if it terminates employees for their own private words,
    especially off of school grounds.

This is where I have such a problem with immorality dismissals. We're all
educated, intelligent people. Even we can't agree on what's moral, I mean
just take a look at this thread. There have been responses arguing that this
has to be a joke due to the absurdity of a firing over what was said, all the
way to those who have posted that the OP is just short of a scumbag who never
deserves to work with kids again.

How do you define "immorality" or conduct unbecoming of a teacher, and who
should get to make that decision when someone's career is at stake? Just
because some of you disagree with my opinion doesn't mean that your right, nor
does it mean that I am. Even the appeals courts have widely disagreed over
    this broad topic.
