Posted by Sue on 10/03/08 A Local Education Agency representative must be at the IEP meeting. Here is our situation: A student is attending a private school out of her resident district by parent option. The private school is in our district, and we provide special education services in that school. Who is considered the LEA representative, the resident district or the attending district? Also, what happens if the resident district refuses to attend any IEP meetings? Side Note: The law also requires a representative from the private school to be there. We are having difficulties getting the private school representative to attend the staffing as well. Thank you!
