    Check with your union on your rights. Also, if there are
    marks left on the other children, get them to the office to
    be treated. He leaves a red mark on a kid, send the kid to
    get an ice pack, etc. I know we have to log every injury in
    our office.

    If he hits you, send him to the office immediately, that is
    against ed law. In CA, you have the right to suspend a
    student from your class for the rest of that day and the
    next. You can also demand a meeting before the child is
    allowed back into your room. Again, that is CA.

    I hope you can find something this child wants and will work
    for. Instead of a behavior contract, have him earn stars
    for cooperating with the rules and following directions. At
    least give it a try. Hang in there!
