    Questions like this are designed to reveal racial bias. Your
    answer should prove you are aware of the research and how you
    will provide an excellent learning experience for each
    student, regardless of race, etc.

    It is important to know why researchers say that African
    American students score lower than white students, and it is
    important to be aware of the conclusions they have drawn from
    their research. Unless you have done research yourself on
    this issue, you can't have a supportable opinion on it. I'd
    stick to "some researchers have studied the effects of..."
    rather than offering my own opinion.
