Google "African American Achievement Gap" and you should find
lots of stuff.
Things that I have spoken of are test bias...tests are not
culturally fair...
I'd say just be careful to phrase your answer so that you are
not presuming that all of any racial or cultural group are
living in poverty. I.e. Don't say something like - families
are not as involved, do not have as many resources, etc. No
global generalities. Speak directly from the research. There
is tons on this topic. I'm surprised it wasn't covered in
your college courses in education.
